CREATIVE METROPOLES to be presented in the main conference of the EUROCITIES network
On November 26 – EUROCITIES Inspiration day, the participants of the conference EUROCITIES 2009 taking place in Stockholm in discussion about Creative Industries will be introduced to the CREATIVE METROPOLES project.
Along the topic of Creative Industries such themes as sustainable solutions by creative designers and entrepreneurs, growth of the cluster and the role of Stockholm City, climate change effect on the creative industries and preconditions for their growth will be discussed.
The discussion will take place in the Stockholm’s industrial landscape and famous landmark, in the setting of Ericsson’s old factory at Telefonplan – a new centre for creative industry.
The main conference of the EUROCITIES network – EUROCITIES 2009 will take place from 25 to 28 November in Stockholm and this year is focused on the topics of climate change and economic growth. More information can be found on the webpage www.eurocities2009.eu.

The creative industries have become increasingly important in the local and regional growth planning as a catalyst for attracting tourists and provide significant social impacts of urban renewal. Today at least 147 500 or 12,9 % of the total workers in Sweden are employed in the creative industries.
